Cyranel, Lady of Song
Lark of Morning. Her song inspires greatly. The bird symbol is perched on a branch. The gifts she has are joy, music, and inspiration, to whom she draws as bards, minstrels, and children. One folk rite is singing at dawn festivals to receive her blessing. She courts Thalos, Lord of Dreams, through bardic songs. Myrris, Lady of Tears, envies the sadness that makes songs stronger, although Cyranel despises the grip of grief. In certain stories, Cyranel sang too loudly and attracted Veydran’s hunters, who stilled her birds for sport.
Holy Day
I am well and truly amazed to see, on this day, just after dawn and throughout the day, people of no talent from among the greatest players play whatever instrument they can find, whatever one is handy. From guitars to pianos, banjos to washboards, singing to whistling, if it’s something that can make a sound, people will play it throughout the day. Sound dances between districts, each adding to the chorus; nobody cares who started it or who finishes it; they only care that they are making music. The release of tension in those difficult days after the shattering, when everyone at least loosens up and relaxes.
