Veydran, Lord of the Hunt
Known as the Stalker in the Brush, he is represented by a wolf’s pawprint. He gives the gift of instinct, speed, and bounty of prey. His worshippers are hunters, rangers, and scouts. A common folk rite is to smear the first blood of a hunt on the ground. He courts, in springtime, Keryn, Lady of Blossoms, for hunters to bring flowers to lure prey, a symbolic ritual. He envies Braxen, Lord of Iron for his iron arms, but he favors warriors more than hunters. Veydran once tricked Marron’s horses into the wild, stealing prey from riders.
Holy Day
On the last hunt of the season, this is a day to hunt only what is needed and nothing more. Kills are brought back to town, where animals are harvested for all parts of the animal. What is not used immediately is preserved for winter. No animal is hunted for sport, only sustenance.
