Orven, Lord of Paths
Known as the Wayfarer, he is a crossroads that is carved in stone. Bears the gift of luck in travel, guidance to the lost, and discovery of hidden ways. Typically revered by wanderers, caravans, sailors, scouts, and pilgrims. One folk rite, travelers leave three stones at crossroads, saying, “Guide me, Orven, lest I stray.” He courts Envara, Lady of Secrets, since wanderers and whisperers commonly meet at night. Some say he tracks her whispers in hidden trails. He envies Neryth, Lady of Fortune, for she can tilt chance with a coin; he can guide only footsteps. He was infamous for having once betrayed Taldrin’s worshippers astray, leaving their hearths cold — a story told by the innkeepers to children.
Holy Day
From dawn until dusk, everyone cleans and blesses the waymarkers and posts in their district, indicating the right way to walk. Later on, at nightfall, lantern-lit progressions pass slowly throughout town, following the signs until all have been passed. People enter a progression as it goes through their house, returning only as it reaches the end.
