Neryth, Lady of Fortune
Known as the Gilded Hand (the symbol of a golden coin), she is known by her mark of an eye. She gives the gifts of luck, chance, and gambling favor. Worshipperes are gamblers, merchants, and rogues. A common folk rite is flipping a coin before a risky act, calling her name as it’s in the air. She courts no one; she flirts among lovers. Some say she dallies with Orven, Lord of Paths; others say she dallies with Marron, Lord of Horses. Deyra, Lady of Balance, is envious because balance threatens her chaos. Folk tales claim she once tilted scales in favor of a cult of Disease, leading to famine, proof of her flirtation with the Bound.
Holy Day
Neryth’s day is one of risk-taking; everyone wagers something: credits, hours of labor, secrets, favors, crafted goods. Whatever they can spare, not enough to ruin themselves. The game doesn’t matter; all acts of gambling are sacred, not gambling risks. Neryth’s luck is running dry for the year, and after the Shattering, it is considered lucky to survive.
