Keryn, Lady of Blossoms
She is the Petal-Crowned; she is a symbol of a blooming flower encircled by a ring of smaller buds. Gifts bestowed are love, passion, fertility, and the beauty of renewal. Worshippers are lovers, brides, gardeners, and celebrants of spring. There is a folk rite performed during spring festivals; lovers exchange garlands and speak vows in her name. Brides whisper, before marriage, “Keryn, crown me in blossoms.” She is fickle, so she courts many. Some say Alvryn, Lord of the Skywinds, wooed her with spring breezes; others claim Thalos, Lord of Dreams, gifted her visions of endless gardens. She envies Selvia, Lady of Grain for grain endures while blossoms wither—folk song tells of lovers who prayed to Keryn but received only jealousy, causing marriages to break.
Holy Day
Her holy day is before spring really blooms, while winter still has a month to go, but here the ceremony of passion begins. Crowns are made for those seeking joy, but not necessarily commitment, using dried flowers from the previous year. Fires are lit and maintained from sundown to sunrise; the ash is used the next day to plant bulbs for the coming spring and to produce flowers to store for next year's crowns.
